Circa Late 1800's. "Rose of Sharon" rings are typically amethyst that has been carved into a floral design and then inlaid with a fine layer of gold leaf and rose cut diamonds. This is a lovely example of that with beautifully detailed shoulders. In good condition with expected wear from such an old piece such as wear to the stone and prongs but the stone is secure. Please review the photos.
The Victorians were especially enamored with floriography. The Rose of Sharon was is associated with humility, divine beauty and unconditional love.
