Circa 1880's. A beautiful example of a late Victorian ring. Victorians viewed garnet as a token of deep affection and opals were heavily shaped by Queen Victoria who passionately championed the stone. Opals were a symbol of romance, fidelity and good fortune. In good antique condition with wear you would expect from a piece this old.
